A fast moving storm with winds near 60 knots whipped over the lower Eastern Shore, dumping several inches of rain in the area. The storm prompted the CBBT to issue a Level 4 wind advisory around 4 pm. The heavy rains, combined with high tides left several streets in Cape Charles under water.

Wow! Thanks so much for sharing these photos! Our house is in the 500 block of Monroe, and after the hurricane last fall, saw similar flooding, so am assuming this happens with some frequency. Why are there no storm drains?
It dont take long for Cape Charles to flood an dont take much either ! They are so many feet below sea level that it floods easy !

Wow!!! That’s the first time I can remember the water that high in Cape Charles!! I attended that school as well.
Really, it’s always flooded near the school but for the rest of town I don’t think that it has flooded like since my mother was very young.
