Science and Philosophy Seminar of the Eastern Shore of Virginia has scheduled its next seminar, “Understanding Rural: A Survey of Hospice Care in the FAR corners of America.” The free 90-minute seminar will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 3 in the Lecture Hall of the Eastern Shore Community College, 29300 Lankford Hwy, Melfa, VA 23410.
James McDaniel will talk about how two per cent of the American population, roughly 6 million people, live in areas with little or no access to Hospice care, why that is so, and how to address the problem.
McDaniel is a board-certified hospice and palliative care physician and Medical Director of Riverside Shore Hospice.
