Dante Barksdale, an anti-gun violence activist who worked as the director of Baltimore’s Safe Streets program, is dead after being shot in the head.
According to a Monday report from the New York Post, Barksdale was visiting a local public housing project when an as-yet unidentified gunman opened fire and struck him in the head.
Barksdale, who worked as the director for the city’s Safe Streets campaign for more than a decade, was rushed to nearby Johns Hopkins Hospital early Sunday morning, where officials pronounced him dead.
A few weeks earlier, Barksdale completed a project where he had delivered winter coats to families at the very same housing project where he lost his life.
A police spokesperson told the NY Post, “The investigation is ongoing and we have no further updates to provide at this time.”

Killing such a wonderful man in the streets of Baltimore has nothing to do with democrat politicians total failure in that city, or black on black crime that has been festering for decades. Let’s not try to get jobs back into these communities. Let’s continue to send jobs overseas so that the poverty must continue and there is no room for hope. The wonderful words of MLK will continue to go to waste and be nothing but a dream until more black leaders step forward and call out the carpetbaggers who have no answers. The other choice is let’s continue to believe in Democrat politicians like our new president, who have not even tried to find a solution for 50 years. He, or she, who refuses to learn from history is doomed to repeat it. More BLACK leaders must step foward in volume because of the distrust built into the current system, of white leaders. Just Do It ?

This just could not happen in such a lovely totally Democrat controlled town. They have gun control laws. So there is no way this could happen. I know. I was born and raised there.
