Water Plant received routine maintenance processes including filter backwashing and softener regenerations, as well as daily water quality testing and analysis, monitoring well samples collected for DEQ.
Trihalomethanes (THM) and Haloacetic Acid (HAA5), as well as bacteria samples were collected for VDH. THMs most commonly present in drinking-water are chloroform (CHCl3), bromodichloromethane or dichlorobromomethane (CHBrCl2) (BDCM), dibromochloromethane or chloro- dibromomethane (CHClBr2) (DBCM), and bromoform (CHBr3). Haloacetic acids (HAA) are a group of disinfection byproducts that form when chlorine compounds that are used to disinfect water react with other naturally-occurring chemicals in the water.
