
Science and Philosophy Seminar of the Eastern Shore of Virginia has scheduled a seminar, “Metabolic Syndrome: The Silent Scourge of Civilization!”. The free 90-minute seminar will be held 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21 in Room 113 of the Eastern Shore Community College, 29316 Lankford Hwy, Melfa, VA 23410.
Art Fournier will discuss how Metabolic Syndrome is associated with the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes, its increasing prevalence, and treatment.
Fournier is Professor Emeritus of Family Medicine and Internal Medicine at University of Miami; he retired to the Shore 10 years ago.
