The Cape Charles Library has entered the Drag Race as it now offers The Big Reveal: An Illustrated Manifesto of Drag by RuPaul starlet Sasha Velour.
In her debut, Velour, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race season nine, interweaves her autobiography with the cultural history of drag. Placing her own achievements within the context of the gay rights movement and breakthroughs by previous drag artists, Velour recounts how the Stonewall riots and the emergence of queer theory and grassroots LGBTQ community movements in the 1980s and ’90s influenced the creation of NightGowns and her zine Velour.
Velour details the backstage preparations for her pivotal finale performance on Drag Race and elaborates on the inspirations. Throughout the text, the author includes Post-it note asides, scrapbook photographs, line drawings, and full-color storyboards (Velour has a master’s degree in cartooning).

Does our library age restrict any of its inventory? Some things require parental control to protect children. Influencing gullible parts of a society is a long standing practice which can have very bad outcomes. This movement has turned violent. I hope common sense prevails but I won’t hold my breath.
DO NOT hold your breath, you’ll suffocate. because in America today, THERE IS NO COMMON SENSE, not even a shred, or Joe Biden, who considers the “trans” like the Nashville shooter to be somehow heroic, would never be the president, nor would Karmela Harris be one heartbeat away from the oval office, or in Joe’s case, one 25th Amendment petition, and God help the nation of that happens, although a strong counter argument can be made that what is happening is a result of God turning his, her, their or its back on America and its people.
