Richmond, VA – June 26, 2023 Breeden Construction is pleased to announce it has been awarded the contract to serve as the general contractor to rehabilitate Myrtle Landing apartment community in Cape Charles, Virginia. Myrtle Landing Renewal, LLC is the developer for the project.
The Myrtle Landing Apartments (formerly Heritage Acres Apartments) is a housing complex providing affordable housing for elderly and disabled residents in Cape Charles. There are approximately 93 units and related facilities located on approximately 8.40 acres of land at 815 Randolph Avenue.

The upgrades to Myrtle Landing, a 93-unit multifamily community offering affordable housing to senior residents and residents with disabilities, encompass a variety of wholistic improvements including the renovation of all apartments and the construction of new access routes—crosswalks, ramps, curb cuts and sidewalks—to enhance accessibility.
The renovation project will also bring a new mail area and maintenance storage building, renovated community center and upgraded amenities. The community center refurbishment and amenities will create an updated and modern space for residents to enjoy. The property will also receive an exterior face-lift; the existing exterior siding will be replaced with new materials, improving the overall appearance and durability of the buildings.
“I look forward to the positive impact this renovation will have not only for the residents of Myrtle Landing but for the Cape Charles community,” said Breeden Construction President Brian Revere.
Assistance from the Economic Development Authority of Northampton County and Towns (EDA) by the issuance of the EDA’s revenue bonds helped in financing certain costs of acquisition, construction, rehabilitation, renovation and equipping of the Myrtle Landing Apartments.
