October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of early detection and encouraging women to stay up to date on recommended breast cancer screenings.
To help improve access to these potentially life-saving services, Riverside Health has partnered with the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation to expand access to no-cost breast cancer screenings and diagnostic testing for eligible community members, including residents of Virginia’s Eastern Shore. The program is designed to help remove financial barriers to care and ensure more individuals have access to the screenings and follow-up testing they may need.
Community members interested in learning more about the program or determining their eligibility can contact Riverside’s Cancer Outreach Office at 1-800-520-7006. Additional information about the partnership and its impact is available in the press release.
Given the importance of access to health care services in rural communities, I thought this information may be of interest to your readers during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Please let me know if you’d like additional information or if you’re interested in connecting with a Riverside expert to discuss the importance of breast cancer screening and early detection
