Report by Chris Glennon.
The Northampton varsity soccer team lost to Essex 4-1, yet while the varsity team, marked by tepid flow and selfish play continues to struggle, the boys JV soccer team continues to roll–they defeated Essex High in Tappahannock Friday 4-0. Strong defense and quickness, flow and unselfish passing has been the recipe for success. In goal for the shutout was Gerardo Maldonado Lopez. The defense consisting of Edvin Fernandez, Jodi Ortiz, Andrew Lassiter and Andrew Mungia was stout all night. Keven Ortiz scored one goal off a free kick, and one on an unassisted attack. Aaron Cruz also scored an unassisted goal.
On a beautiful touch pass from Cameron Glennon, Jose Terron scored the 4th and final goal.
