Sourcing the best ingredients is the cornerstone of each ESCC candle. All of the candles are hand-poured in Van Dorpe’s studio in Cambridge with premium ingredients, including coconut soy wax, phthalate-free fragrance oils, and cotton wicks. The gentle wave of gray wax on top of each new ESCC candle shows that it is hand-poured, and also serves as a nod to the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. 

The wax is poured into glass vessels and accented with a piece of tied nautical twine. Once the candles have cooled, Van Dorpe places each candle into its signature box, which features the scent’s unique illustration, a brief history of ESCC, its heron logo, and a whimsical “HELLO FROM THE EASTERN SHORE” message on the flap.
