CAPE CHARLES, Va. – St. Charles Catholic Church, in partnership with the American Red Cross, is gearing up for an upcoming Blood Drive to be held at St. Charles Parish Hall, located at 550 Tazewell Avenue in Cape Charles. The event will take place on March 22 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
As the need for blood remains constant, this collaborative effort aims to mobilize volunteer donors to fulfill the ongoing demand for blood in our community. According to statistics, someone in the United States needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds, highlighting the critical importance of blood donations in saving lives.
“We invite everyone to join us in our lifesaving mission by scheduling an appointment to donate blood,” said organizers of the event. “Your contribution could make a significant difference in the lives of patients in need.”
To schedule an appointment for the Blood Drive, individuals can click here or download the Red Cross Blood Donor App, available on the App Store and Google Play. Alternatively, they can text BLOODAPP to 90999. The app allows donors to conveniently schedule appointments, view their blood type, access the results of their mini-physical, and track their donation history.
Donors are encouraged to spread the word and rally their friends and family to participate in this impactful event. By coming together as a community, we can make a meaningful difference and help ensure a stable blood supply for those in need.
