CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Capital Projects Manager Bob Panek has provided an update on ongoing projects and activities:
Community Trail Phase 3:
- The contractor continues to make progress.
- Reconstruction of median curbing is almost complete.
- Planting areas have been graded.
- Started placing crushed stone in parallel parking bays in preparation for paving.
- Participated in VDOT progress review meeting.
- Resolved design issue for ADA ramp at southeast corner caused by recent sidewalk reconstruction of Mason Avenue by VDOT.
- Sixth progress payment request under review by VDOT.
- For unrelated reasons, ANEC has decided to replace the pole from which we are getting power for the lighting. Uncertain whether this will impact completion of lighting.
- Project estimated to complete by the end of April.
Water and Wastewater Utilities Sale:
- Provided additional information to Town Attorney and Virginia American Water related to real property, personal property, and contracts required for closing the sale of water and wastewater utilities.
Library Properties Sale:
- Drafted staff report for the proposed ordinance to sell Library properties to a selected developer.
The report provides insight into the progress of various projects, ensuring the community is kept informed about the developments. Residents can expect these projects to be completed on time and with efficiency.
