The Virginia Coastal Resources Management (CCRM) team was awarded a 3-year grant from the VA Coastal Zone Management Program to update the tidal shoreline inventory in select localities.

- AI Integration: Leveraging the power of artificial intelligence (AI), the update process will utilize more efficient methods to rapidly identify common shoreline features such as docks and defense structures.
- MapMyShore: Introducing MapMyShore, a pioneering community science application designed to engage the public in shoreline monitoring. This app empowers individuals to submit observations of shoreline conditions, which will be reviewed and verified before integration into the updated inventory.
