What: East Coast Migrant Head Start Project Celebrates of 50 Years of Impact
When: Friday, September 13, 2024; 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Where: Sawmill Park, 24387 Joynes Neck Rd, Accomack, VA 23301
Why: East Coast Migrant Head Start Project (ECMHSP) serves farmworker families at two Virginia educational campuses, located in Cheriton and Parksley. Our organization is celebrating 50 years of nurturing, educating, and empowering children from ages 6 weeks to 5 years! During the event, ECMHSP will recognize community partners that have helped connect resources to farmworker families and staff that have made significant contributions over time.
Special guests and speakers:
- Shenay Wharton, Licensed Professional Counselor
- Virginia elected and government officials, including Rev. Calvin L. Washington, Sr.-Accomack County Board of Supervisor member for District 5; Gabi Ramirez, Virginia Department of Health; Sheryl Savage-Kellam, Northampton County Division of Social Services
- ECMHSP management and staff that have been employed five years or more
- ECMHSP that have attained advanced degrees
This event will feature a DJ and fun lawn and table games for outdoor entertainment. Food will be catered by Mimi’s Bold and Beautiful Creations and desserts will be served by Chellz Sweet Treatz .
