Cape Charles, Va. — The Cape Charles Historic District Review Board has scheduled its regular meeting for Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., with a busy agenda of Certificate of Appropriateness applications for both renovations and new construction in the district.
Projects under review include:
- 508 Harbor Avenue: Proposed exterior renovations to a two-story single-family home.
- 406 Randolph Avenue: Plans to replace existing metal doors with fiberglass, renew front porch wood columns and balustrades, and update the roof eave trim on the west side of the two-story home.
- 629 Tazewell Avenue: Installation of shutters on the front windows of the two-story residence.
- 602 Washington Avenue: An after-the-fact application to approve a side outdoor shower and gutters already installed on the side deck, along with a proposal to add lattice around the porches.
- Monroe Avenue (Tax map #83A3-1-32): Proposal to construct a new 1,040-square-foot, two-story single-family dwelling.
- Tazewell Avenue (Tax map #83A3-1-420): Proposal for a new 1,072-square-foot, one-and-a-half-story single-family dwelling.
The board will also receive updates on training as Members James and Wright prepare to attend a Certified Local Government CAMP Workshop in Lynchburg on November 8, while Member Thom will attend a similar workshop in Williamsburg on November 15.
