CAPE CHARLES, Va. β The Cape Charles Police Department handled a diverse range of incidents and operations in November, reflecting its commitment to maintaining safety and order in the community.
Activity Overview
The department responded to 108 calls for service within town limits and provided assistance on 24 occasions outside Cape Charles, including 14 calls with the Northampton County Sheriffβs Office and 10 with the Virginia State Police.
Arrests and Enforcement
- Arrests:
- Two misdemeanor arrests were recorded, including one for a second DUI offense within five years and one for refusal.
- Traffic Enforcement:
- Issued 13 traffic summonses and six parking tickets.
- Addressed two golf cart-related interactions.
Patrols and Building Checks
- Foot Patrols: Officers conducted 54 hours of foot patrols to maintain a visible presence in the community.
- Bay Creek Patrols: Logged 27 hours of patrols in the Bay Creek area.
- Building Checks: Conducted 122 checks of buildings, ensuring the safety of businesses and residents.
