CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Code Official completed a range of activities this month, highlighting the town’s steady development and ongoing enforcement efforts.
The department reported the following key metrics:
- Inspections: Conducted 65 inspections across various properties.
- Permits: Issued 17 permits, including those for new homes in Bayside Village II, Bayside Village, and Muirfield Village, with additional permits pending review.
- Rental Inspections: Processed one rental inspection application and completed one rental inspection.
Collaborative Efforts
The Code Official worked closely with the Zoning Administrator and Town Manager to address ongoing projects and discuss updates to the short-term rental (STR) ordinance.
Development Projects
- Reviewed and approved plans for new homes in Bayside Village II and Bayside Village.
- Plans for additional homes in Muirfield Village and Bayside Village II are currently under review.
Other Activities
The department also responded to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, providing details on all violations and fines issued through Code Enforcement.
