CAPE CHARLES, Va. — Cape Charles Main Street is taking steps to expand bicycle access and convenience across town with the launch of a new Community Bike Rack project.
During a recent meeting with the Cape Charles Civic League and Citizens for Central Park, the groups agreed that Main Street will apply for funding through the T-Mobile Hometown Grant program, which provides up to $50,000 for approved community projects.
If awarded, the grant would be used to purchase and install bike racks in key locations throughout Cape Charles, supporting the ongoing Rails to Trails initiative and encouraging both residents and visitors to choose cycling as a way to get around town.
Project organizers said the effort is part of a broader vision to make Cape Charles more accessible, walkable, and connected.
