Cape Charles, Va. — Authorities are investigating a shooting that left two men injured Sunday afternoon in the Bayview area of Northampton County.
According to Northampton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of multiple shots fired at approximately 4:23 p.m. on March 1 along Laughing Gull Road.
Sheriff David Doughty said that when deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered two adult male victims who had been shot.
Investigators determined that several individuals and multiple vehicles were involved in the incident. Most of those present had already left the scene by the time law enforcement arrived.

One victim was treated for injuries and later released, while the second individual was transported to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. Authorities reported that the individual is currently listed in stable condition.
Sheriff Doughty confirmed that no charges have been filed at this time as the investigation remains active.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Cape Charles Police Department, Eastville Police Department, Exmore Police Department, Virginia State Police, Virginia Marine Police, and the Northampton County Department of EMS.
