CAPE CHARLES, Va. β The Town of Cape Charles is reminding local businesses that Business, Professional and Occupational License (BPOL) applications are due April 15, with penalties and interest applying after the deadline.
To help business owners meet the requirement, the Finance Department is extending office hours during the week leading up to the deadline.
According to the town notice, extended hours include:
- Tuesday, April 7 β Open until 7 p.m.
- Thursday, April 9 β Extended hours
- Monday, April 13 β Extended hours
- Tuesday, April 14 β Extended hours
The Finance Department is located at 242 Tazewell Avenue in Cape Charles.
Town officials encourage business owners to submit applications early to avoid late penalties and to allow staff time to assist with any questions or corrections.
BPOL licenses are required annually for businesses operating within the town, and the deadline is part of the townβs routine fiscal and regulatory process.
Officials say the extended hours are intended to provide additional flexibility for business owners who may not be able to visit Town Hall during normal business hours.
For additional information, business owners are encouraged to contact the Cape Charles Finance Department directly or visit Town Hall during the extended hours period.
