Parksley, Va. — The Eastern Shore of Virginia Regional Library & Heritage Center is inviting community members to learn a practical and creative new skill during an upcoming MakerSpace Sewing Machine Training class on Thursday, June 18, at 6 p.m.
The hands-on workshop is designed for beginners and anyone interested in learning how to safely operate the library’s sewing machine. Participants who complete the training will become certified to use the sewing machine independently through the library’s MakerSpace program.
Sewing is a rewarding hobby that combines creativity with practical skills. From repairing clothing and creating home décor to crafting personalized gifts and exploring fashion design, sewing offers endless opportunities for self-expression while helping people save money and reduce waste. Many enthusiasts also find sewing to be a relaxing and enjoyable activity that provides a sense of accomplishment with every finished project.
Space is limited to 12 participants, and advance registration is required.
Those interested can register through the library’s MakerSpace Sewing Machine Training program offered by the Eastern Shore Regional Library and Heritage Center.
