ACCOMAC, Va. — The Accomack County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, to consider transferring certain industrial park easement rights and infrastructure ownership to the Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD).
The Board’s regular meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Chambers, Room 104, 23296 Courthouse Avenue, Accomac, with the public hearing scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
Proposed Transfer to HRSD
According to the notice, the county is considering actions required under Virginia Code Section 15.2-1800, including:
- Assigning and granting to Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD) all of the county’s privileges, duties, and rights associated with Industrial Park easements
- Granting and conveying to HRSD the county’s ownership interest in the Industrial Park Gravity system
Such transfers typically occur when regional utilities assume responsibility for wastewater infrastructure, which can shift maintenance, operational oversight, and future upgrades to the regional authority.
Public Input Invited
Residents and interested parties are encouraged to attend the hearing or submit written comments. Citizens may also review related documents prior to the meeting.
Individuals seeking additional information, wishing to submit comments, or needing accommodations for disabilities may contact the Accomack County Administrator’s Office at:
