Cape Charles Town Council approved raising the property tax assistance to the elderly and handicapped from $22,000 to $25,000.
The Town of Cape Charles offers assistance in the form of real property tax credits to qualified persons who are elderly or who are physically disabled.
In 2019, Northampton County increased this maximum to $25,000. It has been longer than 6 years since any cost of living or other adjustment has been made to this form. The town generally follows the county in tax matters, so unanimously agreed to raise the tax assistance.

And has it ever!
