We started having swim advisories here in Cape Charles on our beach after those ships began anchoring off of our shore.
I cannot see the logic in parking those ships adjacent to a public beach. Are the ships even being monitored to verify they are not dumping waste into the bay?

Lori, you’re correct.
The more ships you have, the more sewage you get.
The bigger the boat, the more sewage.
When I lived aboard my boat I knew of a few vessels (houseboats mostly) that would empty their holding tanks mostly around midnight, on a weekend usually 12AM Sunday morning on an outgoing tide.
Smelly with TP and floating turds.
(Lynnhaven river Inlet) However; in a Court of Law, I couldn’t say I observed anything.
The Coast Guard and EPA are on it, but the boats/ships, by using time of day, wind and tide when dumping make it quite difficult to catch and convict.
Has been going on long as I’ve been here, ’bout 3/4 century.
Just an observation.
