As the winter frost settles in, Cape Charles unfurls its festive charm with the much-awaited Historic Christmas Home and Cookie Trail. This delightful tradition weaves together the warmth of the holiday season with the rich tapestry of the town’s architectural legacy, inviting visitors to step into a bygone era of timeless merriment.
On December 9th from 2-5 pm the Vacation Homeowners of Cape Charles are once again sponsoring the Cookie Trail. This much-anticipated event attracts hundreds of visitors to Cape Charles. This year we have a line-up of historic houses, fully decorated for Christmas and while touring each house, visitors are given a cookie to take home. This event is free with a non-perishable food donation. In past years we have raised truck loads of food for the local food bank and monetary donations to the Cape Charles volunteer fire department. The tour showcases a splendid array of architectural styles, from the intricate details of Victorian houses to the charming simplicity of Four-Square and American Gothic structures, all adorned with festive decorations that evoke the spirit of the season. Visitors are welcome to wander through these lovingly decorated homes, where the air is infused with the scents of freshly baked cookies and the sound of carolers fills the streets.
