CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The annual Epiphany Party is set to return to Cape Charles this weekend, bringing together residents for an evening of food, fellowship, and fundraising at the Cape Charles Volunteer Fire Company.
Organizers said the fire company may be able to move some of its trucks outside, weather permitting, to create additional space for guests inside the firehouse. The Epiphany Party team expressed its appreciation to the volunteer firefighters for allowing use of the facility and supporting the long-running community event.
Volunteers who wish to help with setup are asked to arrive at the firehouse at 10 a.m. Saturday. Those interested in volunteering during the evening are encouraged to contact organizers by email. Auction items may be dropped off at the firehouse between noon and 5 p.m. and placed directly on auction tables.
The party will begin at 5:30 p.m., a change from previous years. Food service will also start at 5:30 p.m., followed by a live auction at 6 p.m. A 50/50 raffle drawing is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Bidding paddles can be registered at the workers’ table.
Organizers reminded attendees that home-prepared food and outside alcohol are not permitted. Commercially purchased food is allowed for individual tables. All auction items won must be removed from the firehouse the same evening. Payment will be accepted in cash, by check, Venmo or credit card.
The Epiphany Party team said it hopes the community will turn out in strong numbers and stay through the end of the evening to help with cleanup, continuing a tradition that blends celebration with cooperation.
The event is coordinated by the Epiphany Party Team: Butch Vest, Brad Swenson, Mark Usry, Jim Granger, Tiffany Mohr, and Joan Natali.
