CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Town of Cape Charles has finalized and executed a moorage agreement with Coastal Seaplanes, clearing the way for expanded air and water access to the town’s harbor.
Coastal Seaplanes, based at Legasea Marine in Yorktown, will now offer service to Cape Charles as part of its growing network of destinations along the Eastern Virginia and Upper North Carolina coast. The company specializes in air and water transportation to communities throughout Chesapeake Bay, the Outer Banks, and surrounding areas.
The agreement allows Coastal Seaplanes to utilize the Cape Charles Harbor for mooring its aircraft and conducting passenger and cargo operations.
Coastal Seaplanes operates a Cessna 206 amphibious aircraft, widely regarded for its safety and reliability. The plane is configured to carry three passengers along with luggage and cargo, piloted by a single captain.
The new partnership is expected to boost tourism and offer an alternative means of transportation between Cape Charles and other waterfront communities.
