CAPE CHARLES — The Town of Cape Charles is asking residents and visitors to weigh in on the community’s future as part of its annual Community Strategic Planning Survey, now open through January 9, 2026.
The survey, conducted each year to guide long-term planning and improve municipal services, seeks feedback on public spaces, community character, local priorities, and how well town services are meeting public needs. Officials say the responses play a significant role in shaping policies, budget decisions, and capital improvement planning.
Participants can complete the survey online by scanning the provided QR code or visiting the link shared by the Town. For those who prefer paper, hard-copy surveys are available at Town Hall and the Cape Charles Memorial Library.
Completed hard-copy surveys may be:
- Dropped off at Town Hall, 412 Tazewell Avenue
- Mailed to P.O. Box 191, Cape Charles, VA 23310
- Scanned and emailed to Libby Hume, Town Clerk, at clerk@capecharles.org
All responses must be submitted by 4 p.m. on January 9, 2026.
Town officials encourage full-time residents, part-time homeowners, and visitors alike to participate. “Community input is essential as we plan for the coming years,” the Town said in its announcement. “Your feedback helps us understand what you value most and where improvements are needed.”
The survey results will be compiled and presented to the Town Council later this winter as part of Cape Charles’ ongoing strategic planning efforts.

Sometimes you just have to vote someone out before you vote someone in to get what you want. Think about it for a bit.
