CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Public Works team has been busy addressing maintenance and improvement projects throughout town, from clearing sand along Bay Avenue to preparing for upcoming events.
Earlier this week, crews worked to remove sand accumulation along Bay Avenue. They also leveled out holes in the parking lots at The Shanty and municipal lots, with additional attention needed for the golf cart path.
New trash cans arrived and have been mostly assembled. Meanwhile, Public Works Manager met with Cape Charles Main Street and CCP to discuss the installation of a new clock at Strawberry Street Plaza.
Preparations are also underway for Cape Charles Day. The Public Works team is working closely with event organizers to ensure everything is in place. A meeting was held to review event logistics and the location of key supplies.
In addition to event coordination, the department responded to two valid concerns submitted through the town’s “Report a Concern” system, both of which were resolved. Maintenance work continued at the Central Park bathrooms, with preparations underway for reinstalling insulation and wallboard.
