RICHMOND, Va. – In a Women’s History Month speech delivered on the floor of the House of Delegates last week, Delegate Marcia “Cia” Price (D-Newport News) rang the alarm as attacks across the country on reproductive freedom continue to rise. Echoing the powerful words of Maya Angelou and Audre Lorde, Delegate Price reminded members of the House to believe the clearly stated threats on the right to contraception.
Delegate Price and Senator Ghazala Hashmi (D-Chesterfield) sent companion bills to Governor Youngkin’s desk that would codify the right to contraception in Virginia, including IUD’s, condoms, emergency contraception and the pill.
