Cape Charles has appointed Ms. Ellen O’Brien as interim Councilwoman, filling the vacancy left by Chris Bannon’s retirement. She will serve until the special election which is scheduled for this November.
Ms. O’Brien took her oath of office at the Northampton County Circuit Courthouse this week and has met with Town Manager John Hozey for a brief orientation.
Ms. O’Brien purchased her home in Cape Charles in 2014 and moved here full-time in 2017. She has served on the Cape Charles Memorial Library Board since 2018. She is the Director of Clinical Operations and Device Innovation for a medical device company.
She volunteers with the Medical Reserves on the shore and has participated in the COVIC vaccine clinics at Northampton and Accomack Departments of Health.
