EXMORE, Va. — The Town of Exmore Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. to review a proposed development project and associated zoning changes within town limits.
The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, located at 3305 Main Street, Exmore, VA.
Project Overview
The public hearing will focus on a proposal submitted by Atlantic Group & Associates, Inc., which is seeking zoning changes related to Tax Map Parcel #10-A-8. The application is for the development of a 220-unit Planned Unit Development (PUD) on 32 acres of land. The proposed development will include single and multi-family units.
The session will provide an opportunity for the applicant to present details of the project and for residents to offer feedback.
Town officials noted that the hearing is part of the formal review process, allowing the Planning Commission to gather public input before making any recommendations.
Public Participation Encouraged
Residents, property owners, and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend and share comments regarding the proposed zoning changes. Public hearings are a key step in local land-use decisions, helping ensure transparency and community involvement in shaping future development.
Copies of the application are available for public review at the Exmore Town Office during normal business hours. The materials can also be accessed online at:

Wayne, thank you for continuing to document and report on this proposed development in Exmore. Your coverage is what brought the issue to my attention in time for me to attend the last meeting and speak during public comment.
As someone advocating for residents at Myrtle Landing in Cape Charles, I see clear connections between development decisions, infrastructure planning, and long-term community impacts. Reporting like yours helps keep these discussions visible so residents know what’s happening and have the opportunity to participate.
Public awareness matters. The more people who stay informed and speak up at meetings like this, the more influence communities have in shaping responsible growth and protecting the Eastern Shore.
I appreciate the work you’re doing and look forward to the continued discussion as the April 1 meeting approaches.
