EXMORE, VA —The Town of Exmore will kick off their 1st Annual Free Shakespeare in the Park presentation with “Hamlet”, on Friday evening, September 22 at 7:30, rain or shine.
Shakespeare’s classic political thriller is being staged by the Town of Exmore in partnership with the Boston-based, professional performing arts troupe, Brown Box Theatre Project. Under the artistic direction of Kyler Taustin, the Brown Box Theatre performs throughout Massachusetts and the Eastern Shores of Maryland and Virginia.
“

This marks the beginning of a series of annual events the Town is planning, and what we hope will be an ongoing relationship with the Brown Box Theatre,” said Exmore’s Mayor Doug Greer. “We want bring more performances of every kind to the Park, making all the arts easily accessible to everyone on the ESVA.”
The mayor advises bringing a lawn chair or blanket for seating. Parking is free. The Exmore Town Park is located at 3330 Main Street, and is within minutes of Exmore’s downtown, and Exmore’s three national hotel chains.
In the event of inclement weather, the production will move indoors to the spacious gymnasium of Broadwater Academy, 3500 Broadwater Road, Exmore. Students from Broadwater Academy will serve as ushers and assist with parking at both venues.
