Registration is open for summer camps at Ker Place! This year, the Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society announces two new camps: Little Explorers and Artisan Camp, and the return of the popular American Spies & Nature Detectives.
Little Explorers, for ages 4-7, will be held June 26-30, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Campers will take a trip around the world exploring new countries and continents, and learning new languages, creating games, and making craft souvenirs. Artisan Camp, for ages 8-11, will be held July 17-21, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Campers will step back in time and explore the past as a kid growing up in Colonial America. Campers will create candles, make their own paper and toys, and will explore life and culture in 18th century America.
American Spies & Nature Detectives camp, for ages 9-13, will be August 7-11, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Campers will travel behind enemy lines, learn how to decode messages and create invisible ink using the same techniques as spies in the American Revolution. Nature Detective Camp is presented and sponsored by the Eastern Shore Soil and Water Conservation District.
All camps include materials, a daily snack, and a t-shirt. Space is limited and advanced registration is required.
