ONANCOCK, Virginia β Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. as well as Virginia, and stroke is the fifth leading cause of death in Virginia, both according to the Virginia Department of Health. Risk of tragic outcomes can be reduced with a thoughtful approach to lifestyle changes and proactive treatment.
Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital (RSMH) will share information on staying safe from heart disease and stroke at a free event at RSMH on April 3, 2025 from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
The event begins at 4:30 p.m. with a heart-healthy light menu that showcases how to eat well while eating healthily. At 5:00 p.m. attendees can visit in person education stations, and at 6:00 p.m. the Shore location will virtually join a regional panel discussion and question and answer session.
Registration is required. It is possible to attend just the virtual panel discussion through a computer link which will be emailed upon registration. Register at riversideonline.com/healthequityshore, and please indicate in person or virtual attendance.
In addition to the free light meal, in person attendees will receive giveaways and will be eligible for door prizes.
