Funding for the Cape Charles portion of the bike trail will have to wait until 2020. Town Council was informed Friday evening by email that VDOT is not accepting applications in 2019 for highway safety projects other than those associated with at grade rail crossings, as stated in the letter below.
The application for the bike trail project funding will wait until the 2020 funding cycle, pending VDOT program review.
