  1. This is long overdue, for Hampton roads and the state as a hole, this type of development should have done this 25 years ago. We have let states to are North Delaware and Maryland etc draw visitors and revenue to their states that could have been spent here and not just playing slots. Food, Hotels, Festival, Shopping etc. This is revenue LOST!!! Whats great about this location is having the Amtrack and Tide light rail in the same location and Airport only minutes away with other 4 star hotels and shopping close buy, this should be a win win not just for Norfolk but Hampton Roads as a hole another reason for visitors to come and enjoy our area and discover what makes Hampton roads a great destination.

  2. Mr. Lewis, Atlantic City has been a net DRAIN on NJ’s economy. I beg you to do the research before you support this proposal.

Frankly, fixing the Hampton Roads bridge tunnel will do more to draw people to the area, if they don’t have to sit in the 5-10 mile backups that plague that bottleneck.

  3. Warren Buffett –
“Gambling creates tax revenue, allowing governments to collect on the poor choices of others. And unlike other taxes, these taxes are borne by very few people — those who choose to gamble. Countless studies reveal it is the lowest-income households that spend the greatest percentage of their income in casinos and lotteries, people who can least afford to lose money.”

You know, I’ve been on a number of cross country treks and there’s two things I’ve noticed.

1 – You can always tell when you are approaching a gambling town and not in a good way.
    2 – Never seen reverse angle parking…………………………………………………………….anywhere.

FWIW, some pretty good anti-casino reading –
