  1. Years ago I lived in Florida by a beach that allowed sand buggies … until a couple sun bathing were run over and killed . Only then were motor vehicles outlawed .

This article should be a wake-up call for CC .

  2. It appears that the golf carts are going to be an issue. I have seen people driving their carts on Stone toad going to the brewery. That puts them in the 40mph zone and also in a portion of the 55 mph area. There is no sign showing the end of the cart zone as there is on Old Cape Charles road. They are ignoring stop signs and driver age restrictions as well. Police should be more involved.

  3. When he turns in the golf cart they should be able to figure out who he is. It’s a shame that people who claim to be adults don’t act like it.

  4. Is this the new normal? I think it was Thursday night, maybe Wednesday, about 11:00PM, a group of four seemingly very drunk young folks were driving a golf cart at high speed (for a cart) on the beach, laughing like maniacs, doing circles on the tidal flats, splashing merrily through the low points still filled with bay water. If a cart were to get stuck in the sand, the environmental damage would be substantial with all that battery acid leaking into the bathing area at high tide and the wreck being an attractive nuisance for kids. I don’t doubt that it is fun to drive on the beach, but we need to get this under control – a golf cart on the beach is much more dangerous than a dog!

  5. Maybe a single or double metal post at each entry crossover to the beach….wide enough for kayaks but not golf carts. My worry would be these morons would drive around the post and thru the dune grass..

    1. Maybe Golf Carts should be kept on the Golf Course. There is no reason for them to be used any place else.

      1. Except Americans like the dude in the picture, who incidentally could make some big bucks selling advertising on his wide back-side. are now too obese and weak to be able to walk more than a few feet, so the golf carts have become a necessity if they are to get from one end of the street to the other.

  6. Having red the comments over the last several weeks ,with regard to operation Of GOLF CARTS on both the streets of Cape Charles & Bay creek . With no Supervision by the Police Department Who seem to oblivious as to what is going on WE NEVER SEE A PATROL CAR OR an OFFICER ON FOOT .When did you Last see an officer helping a Child or elderly person cross a street ???

  7. once more where were our our POLICE PATROL NONE EXISTENCE as Usual Do we still have to rely on our 24/ 7 county Sheriff to Pick up the Trash ??
