GSB Media, LLC, the new owner of WCCZ 96.9 FM, 96.9 The Cape, a radio station serving the Eastern Shore of Virginia, will start broadcasting with exciting new programming at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
WCCZ, 96.9 The Cape’s format will be upbeat pop and rock hits from the late 60s through the early 90, including artists like The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Madonna and Prince, to name a few. Listeners will be able to hear the station on the radio at 96.9 FM, online at 969TheCape.com and Alexa devices.
“We’ve been working very hard to bring great content to Cape Charles and the surrounding areas. Locals and visitors can now have something fun to listen to, and they can find out what is happening around town, too. Our programming is simple: Music, Community and Weather.” Operations Manager and Program Director for 96.9 The Cape, Doc Holloway said.
GSB Media owners, Wray and Betsy Byrd Fitch, have deep family roots on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Betsy says, “I grew up on the Shore, and, for as long as I can remember, radio has been an important part of the Shore’s community life, entertaining and keeping folks informed.
