CAPe CHARLES, Va. — Central Park will transform into a ghoulishly delightful playground next week as the Town of Cape Charles hosts its annual Halloween Hootenanny on Friday, November 1, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Little monsters, pirates, tiny dinosaurs, and pumpkins-headed tricksters are invited to an afternoon of family-friendly frights and fall fun. Organizers promise a lively lineup of activities that includes:
• Face painting by Emily
• Z Braids by Kelly
• A photo booth to capture every spooky grin
• Salty Critters Petting Zoo
• Games and prizes
• A kids’ costume contest with opportunities to show off the creativity of the Shore’s most spirited youngsters

Drinks and snacks will be available, along with an extra-festive twist unique to Cape Charles: a Golf Cart Trick-or-Treat and Golf Cart Decorating Contest. The popular tradition turns the town’s favorite mode of transportation into a rolling parade of cobwebs, skeletons, and candy-dispensing fun.
Those looking to deck out their golf carts in boo-tiful style or sign their children up for the costume contest are asked to register by October 28, as golf cart participation is limited. Sign-ups may be directed to pam.endlein@capecharles.org.
Town staff say the event offers a safe, joyful space for families to extend Halloween celebrations without the rush of weeknight plans. Central Park will be dressed for the occasion with seasonal flair, friendly frights, and a community spirit as warm as a mug of cider.
With treats, laughter, and a whole lot of fall magic, the Halloween Hootenanny is shaping up to be a monstrously good time for all ages. Families are encouraged to arrive in costume and ready to play.

Renewable Energy? Sounds like a liberal wet dream. Drill Baby, Drill!
You are as crazy as a bed bug in June.
Awe now you're asking nicely, I think you're secretly crushing on me and it's messing with your head big time.…
I'd like to see the costs for the increases in renewable energy.
