  1. Nearly 97% of all Eastern Shore citizens use well water (i.e. ground water) which is directly fed by the Columbia aquifer system. Once that system is breached with toxins, there is no turning back. The high cancer rates now accruing in both Accomack and Northampton Counties, are a strong indication that pesticides and waste byproduct are already present within this water system. I would highly suggest that the Board of Supervisors do an in-depth study and analysis of the Columbia Aquifer and scientifically examine the present state of the aquifer system.

Secondly, they need to release and discuss the state of the system as is. Any further additional waste stress to this system is foolhardy at best. Water equals life. And we are talking about 97% of the people of this area and their health and welfare. This is truly a serious matter. Once the aquifer system is gone, you have no fall back system.
