  1. And we have selfish idiots here in America today who think it’s too dangerous to stand on line to vote, and idiot liberal judges who believe that crap and change the law to try to destroy us. Toss in Jay C Ford who wants to close great restaurants because he has a difference of opinion and I wish I could have ’em all experience being pinned down by machine gun fire and have to fight their way out with their buddies. I think they’d have a different perspective.

  2. Two excellent histories of the Korean conflict itself are “This Kind of War: The Classic Korean War History” by T,R, Fehrenbach and “The Coldest Winter” by David Halberstam.

A companion history would be “China Crosses The Yalu” by Allen S. Whiting which tells the story from the Chinese perspective.

For a definitive history of the Chosin Reservoir action, I would suggest Volume III of U.S. Marine Operations In Korea 1950-1953, entitled “The Chosin Reservoir Campaign,” by Lynn Montross and Nicholas A. Canzona.

Photos in the volume speak a thousand words each as to what that territory looked like in real life in the winter.

That break-out is a real testament to the will to survive and the strength of the human spirit when faced with real adversity.
