Jake Denton has fought for rights and freedoms throughout his legal career and has the resources to turn out voters in Virginia’s purple 2nd District
Jake Denton, candidate for Congress in Virginia’s 2nd congressional district released his Q1 fundraising numbers today. He reported raising $210,215 since announcing his exploratory campaign committee in December.
Sean Elliott, spokesperson for Jake’s congressional campaign released the following statement on behalf of the campaign: “Jake has proven that he knows what it takes to win not just this primary but the general election as well. Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District needs someone who can muster the resources necessary to fight back against extremist Republican politics that have gone completely off the rails since Donald Trump. The 2nd District needs a candidate like Jake, who has experience fighting for our constitutional and civil rights every single day.”
Jake’s campaign is backed by elected officials and retired elected officials like former Congressman Glenn Nye, Suffolk City Council Member Don Goldberg, former Virginia State Delegate Bobby Mathieson, and former Virginia State Senator Sonny Stallings.
Congressional Candidate Jake Denton had the following to say upon release: “I’m incredibly proud of my campaign and the money that we’ve raised. I know that this election will be one of the country’s most closely watched and hotly contested.”
Jake Denton continued, “The rights of women, the rights of workers, and our American right to democracy will suffer if we don’t elect a Democrat to Congress here in Hampton Roads. I am working hard to win the vote of every single person who is concerned about the future of our constitutional and civil rights. Voters are looking for someone who can stand up for our democracy and who has experience defending our rights. And I am the only one in this race with that experience.”

Trump extremists? Don’t make us laugh.
A recent PEW poll indicates that since 1994 Democrats have gone much further left than Republicans have gone right.
The poll asked whether poor people have it easy because they can get government benefits without doing anything in return. In 1994, 63% of Republicans agreed with this sentiment, as did 44% of Democrats. This year, 65% of Republicans agreed, a 2-point increase, while 18% of Democrats did, a 26-point drop.
In 1994 65% of Democrats believed that most people who want to get ahead can do so if they work hard. Today it 45%. Among Republicans it went from 73% to 77% today.
On the question of whether racial discrimination is the main reason many black people can’t get ahead these days, in 1994, 39% of Democrats and 26% of Republicans felt this way. Now 64% of Democrats say racism is the main reason blacks can’t get ahead, while 14% of Republicans do.
As for national defense, in 1994, 44% of Republicans said the best way to secure peace was through military strength. Today, that figure is 53% but Democrats dropped from 28% to 13%.
On the subject of corporations making too much profit, in 1994 the gap between Democrats and Republicans on this issue was 18%. Today, it’s 30%, and the entire increase in the gap came from Democrats.
The big shocker is on social issues where Republicans have become far more moderate over the years.
The poll asks whether homosexuality should be discouraged by society. In 1994, 58% of Republicans and 42% of Democrats said it should. By 2017, the share of Republicans who felt that way dropped 21 points, to the same % as Democrats.
So we must ask:
– Who supports “mostly peaceful” BLM riots?
– Who supports forced vaccinations for a virus with a .05% death rate?
– Who supports abortion up until birth?
– Who supports illegal immigration?
– Who supports defunding police forces?
– Who supports banning Voter ID?
– Who supports gun confiscation?
– Who supports lawfare against political opponents?
– Who supports anti-semetic policies?
– Who supports releasing criminals into society?
– Who supports men competing in women’s sports?
– Who supports removing the brakes built into our government system, with things such as packing the SC and abolishing the filibuster?
– Who supports the “greening” of our economy, no matter the negative repercussions?
Democrat leaders are like people on a boat that is drifting off to sea, but are convinced that it’s the land that’s moving.
Will Mr. Denton be willing to throw out the anchor or will he continue the Democrat’s drift?
PS – Lose the smear tactics, they ain’t working.
