Joe Rogan calls the Olympics a giant scam. He’s not entirely wrong.
“The Olympics is a giant scam,” Rogan declared. “There are two things going on simultaneously. You have the best athletes in the world participating in their disciplines, and then you have enormous amounts of money being made, none of which goes to the athletes. It’s a giant scam.”
On the stupid opening ceremony, “They’re being artsy, and they’re being fun, but this is not the place for it,” Rogan commented. “They’re pushing this weird agenda in a place where people are already getting taken advantage of. The whole Olympics is just people getting exploited.”
Rogan argues that the Olympic committee profits immensely while the athletes, who are the main attraction, see none of the financial benefits.
Rogan emphasized that the substantial revenues generated by the Olympics, primarily from television and advertising, are not shared with the athletes. Instead, they are funneled to those in charge of organizing the event.
“It’s not made by athletes; it’s not made by the Olympics. It’s made by the people who put the Olympics out,” Rogan explained. “They’re the ones reaping all the money and siphoning cash from these athletes. The money they make is astronomical. The Olympics makes billions in television and advertising revenue, and none of it goes to the athletes.”
