The idea of making a holiday out of Juneteenth, which celebrates the emancipation of African Americans who had been enslaved was actually proposed by the Trump administration. It was shot down by Democrats.
The big problem was that President Trump’s plan didn’t only talk about making Juneteenth a holiday, his plan included tangibles that would bring revitalization to urban communities, safety and a $500 Billion plan to economically empower black people.
In reality, Democrats don’t want black empowerment. They only offer symbolic gestures to pander for votes while opposing real policies that would empower blacks. This is why they are dedicated to keeping black kids trapped in failing schools and fight black families ability to have school choice.
But, they will appropriate African garb and take a knee, which is always helpful;

If We The People voted on continuing to support the failing Black Society in America, it would disappear like smoke in a hurricane.
