Hello Fellow Liberal Drinkers!!
At our last meeting we discussed, amongst other things, the election for Commonwealth’s Attorney for Accomack County, and the movement to institute an elected School Board (as was done in Northampton County) in the hope it will be more responsive than the current appointed one.
The sense of the meeting was, I felt, in favor of Spencer Morgan for Attorney.
The School Boarders are looking for folk to man the 15 polling booths in the County next Tuesday to solicit votes for a petition that would put the topic on the ballot in 2017. Reply to me & I’ll pass your willingness to help along.
Our regular November meeting will be on the 9th (the day after the Election), at 7:00pm in the Boardroom at the Charlotte Hotel, 7 North Street, VA 23417 in downtown Onancock, and on subsequent 2nd Wednesdays of the month. C’mon down!
We’ll have our usual and ever-more-lively “Open Mic” at 8:00pm for announcements, discussion, letter writing, or what-you-will. There’s lots to discuss in this (by then, post-) election season.
