Governor Northam released the following statement, while activating the National Guard in Richmond:
“I acknowledge each of the voices crying out for justice and healing across the United States and in our Commonwealth. I affirm the deep concerns from the black community.”
“I hear you. I know your pain is real. We have all seen too many people harassed, abused, and killed by law enforcement officers, in too many places, for too long—just for being black. I also know that others are exploiting this pain and are now causing violence.”
“I spoke with Mayor Levar Stoney throughout the night; pursuant to the Mayor’s requests, I have authorized a curfew in Richmond and placed the Virginia National Guard on alert. They stand ready to assist in protecting our residents, businesses, especially small and black-owned businesses, and the capital city.
“As Governor of Virginia, I call on all Virginians to join together and build a renewed commitment to working for justice and fair treatment.”
Tacit societal consent to such breakdown of law and order is how free republics crumble. Democrats created an entire news cycle about whining about the need for national mail-in voting because of coronavirus and now they’re literally encouraging mass protests in the street where no one is social distancing.
What’s the game?
The same government officials who threw a woman in jail for opening a hair salon, arrested a pastor for leading worship, and accosted a mom pushing her kids on the swings are doing absolutely nothing to stop violent domestic terrorists from torching their cities to the ground.

People who protest in a civil manner are voicing their opinion and certainly need to be allowed to do so.

Mr. Floyd’s memory is not put in the correct place by stealing, burning and ruining the lives of business owners and their workers who now can’t provide for their families. From what I read about Mr. Floyd he was not a man who believed in that.

The Commonwealth of Va. has a very serious problem. Ralph Northam has demonstrated time after time that he is no leader. In my opinion what he is demonstrating is that he will keep a home on The Shore, but he plans to became a part of The Swamp. He will continue to be trying to get to D.C. and somehow push the agenda for the liberal side of the democrat party. I believe he is already scheduled to be rewarded for his “work”, and Pelosi and her team have his spot all picked out.
What happened in Mn. is disgusting. That cop kneeling on that neck deserves to pay for what he did. His fellow officers who were with him and did not stop him from killing ? I sure hope an investigation is properly conducted and they too pay their price.
What I also don’t know is that Mr. Floyd was killed for being black. Maybe I missed it because I sure don’t like watching that video. I never heard the kneeling cop say anything about Mr. Floyd being black. As I like to say I could be making the 1st mistake of my life, but I heard no racist comments from the killer. ” IF” I am correct, why has this been labeled a racist crime ? To me it sadly looks like a sick man who hates his job and lots of people one day brought that attitude to work with him and killed a guy who wasn’t being a model citizen right then. That man killed was black.
I wonder why no bystander helped ? Several whipped out their phones and made a movie and they think they did their civic duty ? I’m an old white guy who could never stand there and watch that. The loudest voice on anybody’s video would have been mine. I would have clearly told that officer to get off Mr, Floyd’s neck. I would have warned him a 2nd time just like good cops or bosses do, but then it would have been time to use a shoulder and move his weight off that neck. No real man could stand there and watch that. THAT is what America is. Who knows what would have happened then ? It doesn’t matter and we can’t be sure, but hopefully I wouldn’t have died too.
I saw a hate crime video all right. Starring an officer who likes power and control and who doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong. I’m surprised he never had to take a psych exam that was good enough to discover that and remove him or retrain him.
I have yet to see anything that makes me know he did it because Mr. Floyd was black.
I have no idea why there is so much crime and so many murders. It makes zero sense to me. We are all responsible for our own actions, no matter who our parents were, where we wee born, what color we are, or whether or not Gen. Robert E. Lee had slaves. We learn from all our history.
Whites kill blacks. Blacks kill whites. Blacks kill blacks. Whites and Blacks kill cops. I believe the worst stat of all is that blacks kill blacks, and the least is that cops kill. They are all hate crimes. Why is it only a hate crime when a white guy kills ? is it possible that’s a political agenda ?
What I do know, is that if you come after my life, even with as completely Christian a man that I am, you will find out that The Good Lord is not the only one who made all folks equal. Samuel Colt did it too. In that moment, and through my eyes, I will not see where you were born or what color you are.
