Effective August 1, 2023, Tidewater Fibre Corporation, the County’s recycling vendor, will cease servicing the Eastern Shore.
After August 1st, Northampton will be utilizing Shore Waste of Salisbury, Maryland. Shore Waste works in cooperation with Eagle Recycling (also in Salisbury) for acceptance of our single-stream recycling products, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF GLASS. Glass is NOT acceptable by the vendor.
Understanding that glass makes up a significant portion of our recycling stream, a separate container will be placed at each convenience center for glass while we continue our efforts to find a vendor who will accept glass products.
Please do not put glass into the recycling bins. It contaminates the entire load and will cause the load to be rejected by the recycling vendor.

Basically, you’re doing yourself, your neighbors and the environment a favor if you throw all your garbage in the compactor rather than the collection bins.
