This award, aka the GOB award, Is awarded to people who post on social media comments which exhibit the most egregious lies in Orwellian leftist newspeak and represent the banalest that live amongst us. Note. A gob is defined as a slimy viscous substance as evidenced by such postings and ranked as with Pinocchio penchant for perfidy.
The inspiration for A GOB award arose when I published an essay on the Banality of Evil which referenced Joseph Goebbels, Hitler’s Minister of Propaganda ,and Hanna Arendt who is recognized as the most important authority in time of Nazis on origins of totalitarianism and coined the term “banality of evil” which posits those origins with ordinary people following propaganda….blindly. This exists in every society and is root to socialism, communism, and fascism.
Goebbels is infamously known for saying :“If you repeat a big lie over and over again, people will believe it.” And “ The bigger the lie and the more you repeat , the more people will believe it.” We saw this every day in MSM from the moment Trump descended the escalator and announced his candidacy for President; Charlottesville, Covington, attempted coup, and impeachment. Conspiracy by MSM, Big Tech, the deep state, and dark money. Consider the Hunter Biden story:
Two months prior to election, NY Post broke the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop and incriminating evidence relating to himself, his brother and Joe Biden and their involvement with China, Russia, and Ukraine clearly showing illegal, unethical, and compromising information. MSM censored all reporting of the story (CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS,PBS, NY Times, Wash. Post…et al.)and discredited this as only Russia disinformation. Big Tech Twitter and Facebook censured any posting relating to the story. They said this was because it had not been “verified”. Curiously, an excuse ignored every day over past 4 years with unverified stories based entirely on leaks and anonymous sources.
This is the real Russia/China collusion story which was deliberately covered-up to aid and abet the most treacherous theft of an election of an American President in history.
It is said that if Trump were to walk across the Potomac River, MSM would report as, based upon anonymous eyewitness sources, it is confirmed Trump cannot swim and lied about this when in high school. Such is the standard by which the banal awardees of the GOB award need be judged.
Th initial GOB Awards are given to Michael Stephano, Sharon Snead, Pat Doughty, and Jay Ford for their incessant postings on Facebook of their ignorance and banality. They would make Goebbels proud, Orwell spin in his grave, and cause Arendt to say I told you so.

Well Charles, it sounds as though these folks have insulted their own lack of intelligence more times than you care to any longer see or hear. I spare myself their blather most of the time and am only forced to deal with it if they leave the confines of “social media”. You see, I put Mr. Zuckerberg at the very top of this antisocial list a long time ago, and won’t give him the ability to earn a wooden nickel. I have just said no to his platform, and those like it, since forever. Joining his black book club, to help him make money, direct market to me, and entertain me with the likes of his fellow globalists, communists, and idiots seems all too counterproductive. But I am sure Jay C. deserves to be on your list. Hang in there ! and feel free to quote and share some of their most ignorant rantings here.
Unfortunately
The new American doesn’t want to know
They only want to be paid for lackluster or no work
They do not care about reality or real history
This will cause the fall of another once powerful country as has happened in the past
If only they knew about history
They would realize what is happening around them now
Sadly I believe that to a great extent Bob is correct. I think some of it comes from coddling the new and the young. They are not challenged. Conflicts are created drama, not true conflicts. Not life at all. Too much is handed to them. They don’t understand the concept of a 100% commission sales job. If you don’t produce you don’t eat. Or have gas money. I believe socialism in our schools and government is causing this, and softening the parents who are supposed to push the kids. Not overprotect them. More kids need to be told to properly plan for their graduation day and be tossed from the house the next day. Go hungry. Go learn how to survive. Pick the right path. Celebrate our choices and democracy. Find the way. A spirit that is fading.
