Cape Charles, Virginia — The pedestrian involved in an accident near Cape Charles on Thursday evening has passed away, according to Virginia State Police.
The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, November 30, 2023, around 2:36 p.m., prompting State Police to respond to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Stone Road, just off Route 13 from the Cape Charles light. Preliminary investigations indicate that a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta, operated by twenty-one-year-old Kori Javon Brooks Davis of Cape Charles, Virginia, was making a turn onto Stone Road when it collided with eighty-four-year-old Priscilla King Richmond, who was in the roadway.
Following the collision, emergency services were dispatched, and Richmond was airlifted to Norfolk General Hospital. Despite medical intervention, she succumbed to her injuries during the night.
In response to the incident, a State Police Crash Reconstruction Team was deployed to the scene to aid in the ongoing investigation. The Commonwealth Attorney has been notified of the situation. No charges have been filed, but the investigation into the crash remains active and ongoing.
